Buying Guide

Gaming Chair vs Office Chair

Gaming chairs have racing-style bucket seats with side bolsters. They look cool and often include lumbar/neck pillows. However, many have subpar ergonomics for the price.

Office chairs (like Herman Miller, Steelcase, IKEA Markus) prioritize ergonomics and long-term comfort. Less flashy but often better value and healthier for your back.

Key Features

Adjustable Armrests: 4D armrests (up/down, left/right, forward/back, pivot) are essential for proper elbow support during gaming.

Lumbar Support: Built-in lumbar support is better than pillows. Adjustable lumbar is best.

Recline Function: 135-165° recline lets you lean back during breaks. Lock mechanism keeps you in position while gaming.

Material: PU leather looks premium but doesn't breathe. Fabric or mesh is cooler in summer. Real leather is rare and expensive.

Sizing Guide

Under 5'7" / 170cm: Small/Regular size chairs

5'7" - 6'2" / 170-188cm: Regular/Large size chairs

Over 6'2" / 188cm: XL or Tall-specific chairs

Also check weight capacity. Most support 120kg, but larger users need 150kg+ rated chairs.

Assembly

Most gaming chairs require 20-40 minutes of assembly. Tools are usually included. Two people make it easier but not required.

Our Testing Process

We sit in each chair for full 8-hour gaming/work days over multiple weeks. We assess lumbar support quality, armrest stability, recline mechanisms, and material durability. We consider back pain, posture, and comfort after long sessions.
